Questions had equal weight and were not leading. They were accurate and revelant to what survey was attempting to discover with each participant. The questions were painless and the number of questions was just enough.

This survey is very clear and straightforward, mainly because all of the questions are yes or no. The questions were specific (example: “You feel involved when watching TV soaps.” The question specifically asks about TV soap operas, not just TV or dramatic movies). However, the simple font and cluttered form would probably deter me from finishing the survey.

At first I thought this survey was very easy, as the first page only asked me to identify my gender, but then once I got to the second page, I found out that the survey was actually pretty long. At first glance, the questions look short and easy to answer, but upon reading them I have discovered that a lot of them are ambiguous, and thus not easy to answer. The survey looks interesting because of its topic. I think that most people like to find out things about their own personality, so this survey would be attractive to them.

      Hey Janelle,
I thought this was a really cool topic for a survey; however, it was very long. It was also somewhat boring because of the Likeard scale used for every question. There was also a lot of ambiguity in the questions.

It was interesting and pretty short. It was obvious that question were repeating just in a different form and could tell what they were testing. Didn’t like the results especially emotional stability and creativeness seemed inaccurate.

This survey looks fairly simple in its structure, which allows users to answer the questions quickly. Likewise, it looks a little uninteresting, but those who visit this website already have an intent to fill out the survey (regardless of how interesting it appears). It is also lengthy and should be either broken up into several pages or spaced different, as to not overwhelm those filling out the survey.

    • Luis Macas October 5, 2011 at 4:37 pm #

I think this survey is very simple and easy to fill out. However, there are too many questions. This issue may be problematic for participants.

This survey w is really long, boring, and very redundant especially with most of the questions dealing with the way a person feels. Although it is a likert scale , the question should be short and simple.

    • Shade October 5, 2011 at 4:00 pm #

The survey had way to many questions that seemed non related and too broad. I question the validity of this kind of survey and its incentive, which was categorized as a personality test measured on a likert scale.

    • Chanelle Spencer October 5, 2011 at 4:03 pm #

      Hey,
This survey was very long…I think 120 questions. It got boring after a while and the participant may start just putting random answers after the 50th question. However, the progress of how far long I was on the survey was very helpful.

    • Sara Airasian October 5, 2011 at 3:43 pm #

      Hey Chanelle,
I didnt really like that it was a lot of questions, although that probably makes the survey a lot more specific. Seemed a little boring since it was like True/false. I did however like how there was an option of undeterminable.
      Good job! =]

    • Iri De Jesus October 5, 2011 at 3:44 pm #

Very interesting and engaging questions. Gender only offers two choices. Results merely show your standing compared to others who have taken it. Some questions seemed irrelevant.

    • Shade October 5, 2011 at 3:40 pm #

The intro had to many questions and were extremely random. the result/outcome is questionable as to the kind of questions they asked.

This survey is very short and simple. Straight forward and to the point. If I had to take a survey online I would choose one exactly like this.

    • Iri De Jesus October 5, 2011 at 4:15 pm #

Very simple, nice colors, nice diagram, results easy to understand. Method of grading seems unusual.

    • Janelle Harrison October 5, 2011 at 4:31 pm #

I found the colors of this survey to be extremely off-putting. I did not like the brightness of the green and the different shades used. I want a simple survey using black and white so the colors do not distract from the survey. It may also be a confound against accurate results as the colors could sway how a person decides to answer.

Here is the link to the online survey:
    http://blogs.psychcentral.com/healing-together/2011/02/do-you-have-true-grit-take-the-grit-survey/

    • Chanelle Spencer October 5, 2011 at 3:51 pm #

I had to register to take the survey, I thought they asked a lot of irrelevant questions (ie, zip code, DOB, etc.), but at the end I realized they compared my score to other participants to the demographics I provided in the registration process. I would have liked to know why they wanted the information beforehand. Overall the survey was interesting, but not as informative as I expected. Determining whether I was a “True Grit” was interesting to find out, but at the end of the survey I got a grade of 3…I would have liked them to explain what the 3 meant. Also, it wasn’t too long, only 22 multiple choice questions, which can be answered in 5 minutes or less.

    • Kristen des Vignes October 5, 2011 at 3:48 pm #

The format of the survey itself was very simple and easy to navigate. However, in the second portion of the survey, one was not allowed ‘no’ as an option. This would inevitably lead to inaccuracy with respect to results.

    • Jeselle Flores October 5, 2011 at 3:51 pm #

the layout of this survey was easy to understand, but didnt provide us with the option of answering no to the questions.

this survey used a likert scale, but i found it to be complicated because of its format and options.

    • Kristen des Vignes October 5, 2011 at 3:43 pm #

I found the survey to be very convoluted in its choices, especially when you were asked to provide information on the other person. The format of the test, although it provided a simple way of answering (Likert scale) was overwhelming.

This survey was easy to understand and use. Questions were straightforward and to the point, although using only “yes” or “no” may not be an accurate representation. A Likert scale could be more appropriate.

The survey topic is quite interesting, though, when I tried to access it I was required to install a program into my computer. The computer failed to download and install it. I don’t think surveys should be this difficult to fill out. I don’t think anyone would be interested in participating in this survey.

    • Jennifer Janeira October 5, 2011 at 4:18 pm #

      Hey Iri,
This survey was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed taking it! I liked how it the format was diverse and there weren’t too many boring questions.

This was a very unique survey. It was not the traditional type with only questions included. The testing of mental capacities was interesting but a bit much. The questionaire part had questions that were pretty understandable but a little leading. There was no flow in the question sequence, but I was thinking that maybe it was done in such a way on purpose.

      Hey Nick,
I enjoyed this survey it was really good!
      It was fun to take
I liked how you can only play the videos once so your first instinct is the one you record, which helps to stop bias.
20 slides makes it realitivly short.
Also all the models were of average looks and the duration of the smiles were approximately the same.

This survey looks very interesting, as it is colorful and attention grabbing. The questions seem to be very straightforward and easy to answer, however, the survey looks a bit lengthy. If I was asked to take this survey, I might at first want to do it because of the appealing layout of the survey, but I might be offput by the length.
